Deep in my heart, God is creating His tower.

It is interesting that you use the word "tower." Theresa of Avila wrote a book "The Interior Castle"; she lived in Spain in the 1500s.

Theresa was a contemporary of John of the Cross (John Yepes) who also lived in Spain. John of the Cross wrote some incredibly deep and spiritual poetry.

Theresa and John were greatly harrassed by the Spanish Inquisition. It can be very difficult to be a Christian in the Catholic Church--it can be difficult to be a Christian in most churches--especially if you hear from God and obey God.

Hmm I'm not sure why I said tower. I guess I was thinking of the picture I've added to my blog on the right-hand column. I feel like God is resurrecting a tower inside of me, reaching up and up and up... or maybe it is a house?

I think it's funny that "Theresa" means "The Harvester." There have been a lot of Theresa's in history, and Lord knows there are tons of Theresa's alive right now. When I was young, my father told me that Theresa meant "Earth Mother." I tend to prefer that over "Harvester," unless I think of harvesting in terms of death, which I find poetically appropriate.

I think I'll google John Yepes and see what comes up....
