water is not water anymore
nor does air taste the same
when the lungs change, when we breathe light
and know it is a deep gasp that brings us
faith, a swallow, a gulp.

It seems like you are talking about passing from death to life--the born again experience.

Jacob being renamed Israel. Abram being renamed Abraham. Saul being renamed Paul.

We have the same lungs, but now everything has changed--"a grace of sense" as T.S. Eliot would have said. The same lungs, but now we breath light--not just breath--the breath of God. Now we live by faith, a swallow--a mustard seed of faith, a gulp--a leap of faith.
